A new Mercedes-Benz workshop opens in Plovdiv


The construction of a new high-tech factory in the Kuklen industrial zone near Plovdiv starts. The modern factory will produce light parts for the motor giant Mercedes and will open new jobs in the area. An investor in the enterprise is the Turkish company “Odelo Farba”. By 2023, it has invested more than € 40 million in a total of three plants in the territory of the Trakia Economic Zone, announced the construction company Sienit, which will carry out the construction works for the opening of the new Mercedes-Benz Worksh.

The total area of the plot is 92,000 sq.m, the first factory will be on 23,000 sq.m planned production will begin in December 2020. In 2023-2024 a second electronics factory and as well as a subcontractor park.

“Odelo Farba - Bulgaria” is part of the “Baikratral Holding”, whose structure includes companies in the field of lighting production - automobile and general, automobile representation and leasing, insurance, construction and tourism. In 2011, Baikratral Holding acquired the German company “Odelo “.

The company has 7 factories (3 in Turkey, 1 in China, 1 in Germany, 2 in Slovenia). For 7 years, it has made EUR 214 million in manufacturing. The company employs nearly 4,000 people. 461 million euros is the turnover of the company for 2017. Its main customers are Mercedes - Benz, Audi, Renault, Fiat, Toyota, Volkswagen, BMW, and Ford.
