Brazilians shooting a film about the Rhodope village of Momchilovtsi

The village is famous in Europe, Asia. And is now also glorified in South America

The Rhodope village of Momchilovtsi is the most popular Bulgarian village heard in China. Fame is due to natural cow’s yogurt. Nowadays, yoghurt with the Momchilovtsi brand is produced in Beijing using the traditional Bulgarian leaven. Momchilovtsi will soon be famous in Brazil. Currently in the village is a team from the big Brazilian TV “Globul”.

Directors and writers are filming a movie about the mystery of longevity the lens will capture the narrative of the village’s long-lived villagers. According to them, the secret of long-term health is precisely in natural yoghurt and in pure mountain air. The attraction for the tourists of Momchilovtsi is the path of longevity. It is marked with information boards in Bulgarian, Chinese and English.

Apart from the shooting team, there are also scientists from Rio de Janeiro in Momchilovtsi. They will explore the world-famous Bulgarian bacteria that allow the cow’s milk to sour and turn into yogurt. The expectations of local farmers and hoteliers are that Momchilovtsi will become popular for tourists from three continents after broadcasting the movie about the village on Brazilian television.
