Оpera Open 2018

World-famous Bulgarian and foreign names in the opera art will bring together the arena of the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv. On the 23rd of June the premiere performance of the State Opera Plovdiv - “Madame Butterfly” in Puccini, the festival “Opera Open 2018” will open. Especially for the opening, soloists Hai - Ioann Lee from (South Korea) – one of the most talented interpreters of the image of the Asian “butterfly” and the rising Italian tenor Oreste Cosimo, who has already partnered with Anna Nereko and Leo Nuci in La Scala. The conductor of the show is Prof. Nina Naydenova and Tsvetanka Petkova-Stoynova, artist of Japanese clothing.

Verdu’s Trubadur and Othello, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, Adam’s Gizel and Biznes are just part of the classic titles, which will be shown outdoors in front of the Plovdiv audience. Alexandrina Pendachanska, Vesko Eshkenazi and Ludmil Angelov will also surprise fans with their new projects.

Among the attractive titles in the festival poster is also JAMES BOND LIVE IN CONCERT. The concert will feature the most popular songs from the film series for Agent 007 performed by Ruth Koleva, Yagoda Treneva, Christa, Bobby Kosatka and Zhivko Stanev together with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra. And because all the details are important for James Bond, Maestro Todorov will be on stage with special cufflinks with the initials 007.
