The oldest lively city in Europe will enter the top 3 in the world for the best sports facilities.

Plovdiv will host the World Rowing Championship for 2018. The prestigious race will be officially opened on September 8 with a mega show of the Antique Theater of the oldest lively city in Europe.

Plovdiv’s canal will attract the best on the planet in the academic rowing disciplines and canoeing for adolescents and youngsters up to 23 years of age.The city under the hills was preferred by the International Federation for Place, where the top sports forum will take place. The main rival for the Plovdiv household was the Polish town of Poznan.

Plovdiv has already proven itself in conducting world and European championships. In 2015, the city hosted the World Rowing Championship for adolescents and youngsters up to 23 years of age. The European Championship in the same disciplines was again held in Plovdiv in 2016. And last year, the city’s sports calendar was also the World Cup for Academic Rowing.

The design for the construction of a second rowing channel in the city is underway. Once it is actualized, Plovdiv will rank among the top 3 in the world on the best bases. There is an idea in the area to build a National Beach Volleyball Center, it will have an area of about 4 acres and will have 2 covered and 4 open courts.
